Fishing in the Neckar
Many of our guests ask us whether they are allowed to fish in the Neckar directly at the campsite. This is generally possible and is becoming increasingly popular! The following requirements must be met for a fishing permit to be issued:
- For guests resident in Germany: A valid annual fishing license or youth fishing license issued by the authority of residence
- For visitors from abroad: A fishing license for holidaymakers from abroad (valid for four weeks)
Your point of contact for obtaining a fishing license for foreign visitors is the Municipality of Neckargemünd (citizens’ office).
Important note: The fishing license alone does not entitle you to go fishing!
You must first obtain a permit for the fishing venue by presenting the above-mentioned fishing license. Such permits for the Neckar (valid for one day, week or month) are available from Roland’s Anglertreff in nearby Bammental. There you can also find a large selection of fishing tackle and bait.
Anglers will find many different fish species in the Neckar: Eels, barbel, perch, bream, chub, pike, carp, asp, roach, catfish, zander and other species will make every anglers’ heart skip a beat! The Neckar is now a fairly clean river again and all fish can be eaten without hesitation. The most popular fishing methods are spin fishing with soft lures, dropshot rigs or plugs, float fishing, ledgering and feeder fishing.
“Tight lines” to all our fishing guests!
